Ambitious and Driven Point Guard - Malcolm Delaney Joins Lympo Family to Launch His NFT Collection

Introducing the newest member of the Lympo Athlete roster - Malcolm Delaney. Malcolm, originally from Baltimore, played for the NBA’s Atlanta Hawks in the past and in the multiple European leagues later on in his career. He is the winner and MVP of the Italian Cup, German and Ukrainian Leagues. Malcolm Delaney will launch his collection of Lympo NFTs to immortalize his rich career and achievements.

Career

Malcolm Delaney started his basketball career during high school at The McDonogh School before transferring to the Towson Catholic, where he was a three-year letter winner. He also played in the Nike All-American All-Star game, was co-MVP of the Spalding Hoopball Classic, and EA Sports second-team All-American, Charm City Classic MVP, Capitol Classic All-Tournament team and Baltimore Catholic League Player of the Year. During his senior year, Malcolm earned Gatorade Player of the Year/Mr. Maryland and was an All-County selection.

After graduating, Delaney received offers from various collegiate teams, including  Virginia Tech, Clemson, Indiana, Iowa State and Maryland. During college, he played for the Virginia Tech team, where he was a unanimous first-team All-ACC.

In 2011, Delaney signed with the French team Élan Chalon in France’s top professional league, Ligue Nationale de Basketball. A year later, he made a deal to play for BC Budivelnyk in Kyiv, Ukraine. The club played in the Ukrainian Basketball SuperLeague. During his time with the team, Malcolm was named to the All-Eurocup First Team in 2013.

During the 2013 off-season, Malcolm signed a contract with FC Bayern Munich in the German Bundesliga and was named the MVP of Round 10 in the TOP16 phase and MVP for the regular season. In 2014, Delaney signed with PBC Lokomotiv Kuban, where he played for two seasons and led the team to the third-place finish in the 2016 EuroLeague.

In 2016, Delaney joined the NBA Atlanta Hawks and later joined the Chinese team Guangdong Southern Tigers in CBA after a season. In 2019, Malcolm signed with the Spanish and Euroleague powerhouse – FC Barcelona. After playing for FC Barcelona, Malcolm Delaney joined Olimpia Milano of Italy for two seasons until an injury forced him to end the 2022 season early.

Currently, Malcolm is taking a break from playing due to his sustained injury and is focusing on different business ventures - including his own documentary, “The Malcolm Delaney Story”, which was released in the October of last year. And now, his ambitious career on the court will also be immortalized with a collection of Lympo NFTs.

Each of our Lympo Athletes gets a collection of Lympo NFTs that consists of 5 different Athlete cards. The cards are of varying rarity ranging from Common to Legendary. The only issue of the GOAT (Greatest Of All Time) card will be auctioned later.

Lympo users can get the cards by using the Lympo credits and SPORT Tokens or Mintcards. You can stake SPORT tokens, earn credits and acquire unique NFTs.
