Career
Brock Domann's journey to becoming a starting quarterback for the Louisville Cardinals has been a long and winding road. From winning state championships in high school to playing at two different junior colleges, Domann's path to Division I football has been anything but conventional. However, with hard work, perseverance, resilience, and faith in God, Domann has finally reached the pinnacle in college sports – starting for a Power 5 college football program.
Reared in Colorado, Domann grew up playing multiple sports, including soccer, basketball and football. He attended Pine Creek High School, where he led his team to three state championships and earned all-state honors. In his senior year, he played in the Marcus Dixon All-American Bowl in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and won the top academic award.
After graduating from high school, Domann played QB at Ventura College in California, where he helped his team win a Southern California Football Association championship and reach the California Community College Association’s State Championship game in 2018. Domann threw for 1,568 yards and 14 touchdowns while rushing for 580 yards and seven more scores on the ground.
In 2018, Domann was awarded a full-ride scholarship at D1 Campbell University in North Carolina where he redshirted the season. Realizing he wasn’t a good fit with this program, he transferred to San Bernardino Valley College but when COVID-19 pandemic hit in March, 2020, there was no season. Due to California continuing to be on COVID lockdown, he transferred again to Independence Community College in Kansas in the Spring of 2021, where he started and was named a JUCO All-American.
After his successful season at Independence, Domann caught the attention of several Division I programs, including University of Louisville. He committed to the Cardinals in June, 2021 and quickly impressed the coaching staff with his work ethic, accuracy, football intellect and leadership skills.
In 2022 Domann began the year as the backup quarterback but saw his first win against Virginia. In his next game against Clemson, he played the whole second half and led his team to almost upset the top 10 team in the nation. He also played in wins against NC State, Wake Forest and Pitt and in tough games against Boston College and USF.
Domann's breakout performance came in his first career start against Virginia. The stats from Brock’s first start topped those of both Louisville greats Lamar Jackson and Teddy Bridgewater’s first-career start stats. Who could forget the dominating win in the Wasabi Fenway Bowl in Boston in December? Brock led the Cardinals to their 24-7 win versus rival Cincinnati with both his accurate arm and his strong legs. In the 2022 season Brock played in 10 games, he started in 4 of those games (3 of those wins), and he totaled 998 passing yards in the games he started.
Off-the-field, Domann graduated in December with a bachelor’s degree in Sports Management with All-ACC Academic Honors and the National Football Foundation’s Hampshire Honor Society.
Brock is passionate about helping and mentoring young football talents, as he coaches a handful of QBs in the greater Louisville area. Additionally he has a heart for giving back and hosts an annual CARDS Youth Football Camp hosted by Brock Domann and fellow teammates. He’s been a keynote speaker of the National Football Foundation, as well as Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and regularly volunteers to serve at various charity functions and speak to kids at schools.
We are excited to announce that together with Brock Domann, we'll be hosting an exclusive AskMeAnything(AMA)session on his Instagram page on May16th.During the session, together with Brock, we’ll be answering all your questions!
