With great pleasure, we’re introducing another addition to the Lympo football roster — Blaise Matuidi. This seasoned Major League Soccer player will have his legacy immortalized by launching a collection of Lympo NFTs.
Blaise Matuidi is a 34-year-old French professional footballer. He’s played for 5 clubs over his career so far and 3 national teams for France. His longest career patch was in the legendary Paris Saint-Germain club where he played from 2011 to 2017, made 203 appearances and scored 23 goals.
But let’s go back a bit — Blaise started playing football at a very young age of 6 and in 1999 ( he was only 12 at the time) Matuidi was already rated as one of the best players in the Île-de-France region. This made him one of the most sought after prospects in his club. He had no doubts about going pro and in 2004 debuted on his first professional match playing for the Troyes club.
In 2007 Matuidi had one of his greatest performances while playing for the team. Troyes was losing 2–1 with only 15minutes remaining, not only did Matuidi score an equalizing goal on the 75th minute, but he also scored a winning goal 8 minutes after that. By scoring twice in less than 15 minutes he brought Troyes a 3–2 victory. This shows just how relentless Blaise is!
After Troyes, Matuidi played 4 years for the Saint-Étienne club, where he became the teams’ Captain in the 2009–2010 season. But eventually joined the famous Paris Saint-Germain club in 2011. Described as a strong, tenacious, tactical and disciplined player in the 2012–13 season of Ligue 1 he rained havoc and scored goals against Bastia, Troyes, Lyon and Brest clubs as PSG won Ligue 1 for the first time in 19 years. Overall Matuidi scored 23 goals over his time in Paris Saint-Germain.
In 2018 he signed a contract with the Juventus club. Over his three seasons with the club, Matuidi won three Series A titles as well as the Coppa Italia and the Supercoppa Italiana titles.
Most notably Blaise was called up to the 23-man French squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup that was held in Russia. On July 15th of 2018, Matuidi was part of France’s 4–2 victory against Croatia and won the tournament.
Now Matuidi is looking to climb new heights and has joined the Inter Miami club. Over his career, Blaise has scored a total of 58 goals and we want for great athletes to be celebrated — that’s why we chose to immortalize Blaise Matuidis legacy by creating his custom Lympo NFTs.
